COMMUNITY CHANGE ACTORS NETWORK REVIEW OF PACT IN VIEW OF THE AUDIENCE WITH THE PRESIDENT ELECT.

Your Excellency Sir,

We hope this letter meets you well.In view of the recently conducted elections we are pleased to express our heart felt congratulations at your success and noble efforts at extending your hand of fellowship to all key stakeholders.

This we see as a true sign of leadership and commitment to ensuring peaceful co-existence.We the youths under the Community Change Actors Network (CCAN), recognizes that in developing our communities strategically we can get the Nation develop structurally.

We equally recognize that the primary basis of development is to create a genuine system of meaningful growth, wealth, solidarity, security and dignity across the various parts of these communities.

While the elections have come and gone, we have all witnessed various pros and cons in our efforts at the monitoring of these elections. However in creating a balance and in giving our elected leaders an opportunity at providing their commitment to sustainable development, we hereby state that the youths here say ‘NO’ to:

ING (Interim National Government)
No to a re-run of the elections
No to any form of protest against the said completed elections.

It is our believe that these singularly or collectively would not be in the interest of our beloved country having experienced its own share of challenges. Any further funds to be expended could do well be ploughed into further developing our communities. This we hope would be a key part of your administration to maintain a functional Government thereby helping to promote a healthier environment and responsive governmental programmes.

As part of our commitment to supporting your administration, young people in Nigeria want that as from May 29th 2007 you have agreed to:

Creation of a healthy community through preventive and related programs

Support of a conducive educational system to promote/enhance learning

Create a competitive educational culture, opportunities for economic investment and employment

Put in place good governance structure that recognize the need for impartiality as well as making ways for non-clustered productive court system

Enhance natural economic growth through consistent promotion of Nigeria as a positive economic climate for Agricultural, Industrial, Mineral resources development and trade

An opportunity to support the promotion of Niger Delta as a possible global resources center with assurances and demonstration of safety and security specific to one individual property and investment

Strategic initiatives to ensure the energy/power change are a thing of the past especially as they support growth

Decision making, the rule of law and justice are mainstreamed into our processes especially in view of our proposed political reforms

Housing
